In support to the Catanduanes Provincial Government's effort to promote patriotism among the youth, San Andres Vocational School (SAVS) students and personnel started the singing of the province's official hymn, Inang Catandungan, after the flag raising ceremony as part of the morning exercises.
The activity is in compliance to DepEd Division Memorandum Order No. 54 series of 2015, instructing all DepEd schools and offices in Catanduanes to include the singing of the province's hymn as stated in Resolution No. 161-2015 of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cataduanes, enjoining all non-government organizations, provincial offices, local government units, public and private schools, and radio stations the singing of the Catanduanes Hymn right after flag ceremonies and during opening of official programs and activities.
In SAVS, the Catanduanes Hymn is sung after the Bicolandia March. Music teachers had included the song in their classes to familiarize the students with both the music and its importance to the Catandungan heritage.
