Two SAVSians Qualifiy for Regional Consumerism Challenge Finals

Two senior students of San Andres Vocational School (SAVS) qualified for the final round of the 3rd Regional Consumerism Challenge to be held in Gaisano Mall in Legazpi City on October 22, 2014. 

Shenaren A. Soneja and Shane S. Manlagnit, both of IV-Rizal, represented SAVS in the elimination round and ranked second out of 12 participating secondary schools in the Division of Catanduanes. The elimination round was held last October 8, 2014 at Marem Pension House in Virac, Catanduanes. 

The Consumerism Challenge is a contest sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry where contestants from each participating secondary school are quizzed on their knowledge about consumer welfare and protection. Prior to the contest, participants attend a half-day seminar on the same topic.

As second placers, the students received 3,500 pesos cash award and certificates. Mr. Allan T. Gianan also received a certificate of recognition as the team's coach.

Catanduanes State University Laboratory School (CSU-LS) got the top spot. Contestants from CSU-LS and SAVS will form the Catanduanes team in the regional finals.
