No More Room Hopping for SAVS Students

In an effort to provide maximum learning time for the students, Ms. Amelia R. Eusebio, Principal II of San Andres Vocational School (SAVS) issued a memorandum order addressed to all faculty members regarding transitions in-between classes.

In the memorandum dated June 4, 2014, the Principal ordered all students to stay put in their classroom after every class and wait for their teacher of the next subject to arrive instead of them going to where their teacher is.

Traditionally, the students have to move from one classroom to another after every class while most teachers stay in one room for all their classes. This was reversed in the new system where the teachers have to do the movement from one class to the next.

The principal made it clear that the change was meant to make the most of students' time in school by reducing their time spent moving from room to room. This is also seen as a way to completely eradicate cutting of classes by some students as they spend more time inside their classroom reducing the opportunity to loiter around during class hours.

TVE students such as Food Trades (above) still have to move to laboratory
rooms to perform hands-on activities.
The memorandum, however, made it clear that subjects requiring laboratory activities, such as Technical-Vocational Education (TVE) and Science, are exempted from adopting the new system. Students still have to move to the laboratory rooms during these subjects for obvious reasons.

The order took effect immediately after as all teachers were informed.
