SAVS Welcomes Secretary Luistro

Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Br. Armin Luistro pays a visit to San Andres Vocational School (SAVS) on the morning of April 10, 2014.

The Secretary, together with Catanduanes Schools Division Superintendent Jose L. Doncillo III, and Catanduanes Congressman Cesar V. Sarmiento was welcomed by SAVS Principal Amelia R. Eusebio and other SAVS personnel.

The Education Secretary is making rounds of visits in elementary and secondary schools around the country to perform monitoring of the DepEd programs and thrusts on the school level.

In Catanduanes, San Andres Vocational School is the only Technical-VOcational (Tech-Voc) school visited by Secretary Luistro.

The visiting party inspected the on-going construction of the state-of-the-art Furniture and Cabinet-Making Laboratory Building and other classrooms of the school. Secretary Luistro also had the chance to talk to some students taking up summer classes in SAVS. In his words, the Secretary said that the summer program in SAVS is a proof that DepEd schools do not engage in mass promotion of students contrary to some reports.
